The IAI German Speaking Chapter organizes the 2nd buildingSMART International Conference in Munich during the IAI summit.
The event takes place in the famous hotel "Bayerischer Hof" under the auspices of Lord Mayor of Munich Christian Ude. On the eve the Lord Mayor invites the registered guests into the Old Town Hall of Munich

Objectives

The advantages and risks of using virtual buildings throughout the lifecycle of the design, construction and operation of buildings will be discussed from various angles. Experts and decision makers from design and construction, government and private investors, IT and consultancy will exchange experience in the use of building information models (BIM). The need to use data standards will be explained together with the example of IFC.

Target groups

From each target group experts will illustrate the use of virtual buildings in their daily work:

• Architects and Engineers – Design and information in multidisciplinary workgroups can be optimized by sharing virtual building models
• Government – International examples show how building information models conforming to international standards can be used in the development and management of public buildings and to optimize the process of code checking
• Construction industry – Using BIM as centralized database for managing the whole process of design and construction, including claim management
• Investor, Operator, User – Optimizing cost and usage of buildings with the help of building information models
• IT companies: Existing and future development of tools for the building industry based on BIM technology

Conference languages are English and German.
