Munich's Gothic Town Hall, known since the 19th C. as the Old Town Hall (German: "Altes Rathaus"), was built by Jörg von Halspack between 1470 and 1480. The Old Town Hall is situated in the heart of Munich at the famous Marienplatz. The Council Chamber is a masterpiece of medieval design.

We invite you to enjoy a buffet dinner and a music performance within this historic building under the barrel-vaulted timber roof.

Guided tour "New Architecture in Munich"

Tuesday April 4th 2006 - 15:00-18:00
Thursday April 6th 2006 - 10:00-13:00

Munich is one of Europe´s most attractive cities. Nowhere else do tradition and modernity, the old and new complement each other so well as they do here.
With towers prominent from afar, the gothic-style church of the "Frauenkirche" remains an unmistakable symbol of the city to this very day.
Towering over the city, far higher than the cupolas of the "Frauenkirche", is "Uptown München". This high-rise building, almost 150 metres tall, stands out as a significant feature of the city’s new skyline.
With the award-winning museum "Pinakothek der Moderne", which opened to the public in 2002, Munich boasts one of the world’s largest and most impressive galleries to house art of the 20th and 21st centuries.
Munich is particularly well-known for its historical church buildings. The glass, cubic-shaped, modern "Herz Jesu Kirche" provides a bold contrast to this well established tradition.
The Allianz Arena, opened in May 2005, represents a glowing landmark at the northern approaches to Munich and is a spectacular symbol of the initiative towards new, modern architecture in Southern Germany.
